Advanced Eye Diagnostic and Medical Testing Equipment

Every patient follows the same clinical pathway — from first contact through to discharge or ongoing follow-up.

The consultation begins with a full history — duration of the problem, any previous treatment or surgery, relevant general health conditions including diabetes or hypertension, and family history of eye disease.

This is followed by a complete examination: visual acuity, refraction, slit-lamp examination, intraocular pressure measurement, and dilated fundus examination of the retina and optic nerve.

Findings are explained to the patient at the end of the consultation. A written record of findings and recommendations is provided. If further tests are needed, they are arranged before any treatment decision is made.

Accurate diagnosis depends on the right equipment used correctly. Diagnostic testing at Khalid Eye & Medical Care is carried out before any treatment decision is made.

  • Slit-lamp biomicroscopy — detailed examination of the cornea, iris, lens, and anterior chamber
  • Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) — cross-sectional retinal imaging for glaucoma and macular conditions
  • Fundus photography — retinal documentation and monitoring for diabetic and hypertensive patients
  • Automated perimetry — visual field mapping for glaucoma assessment
  • Tonometry — measurement of intraocular pressure
  • Refraction — precise glasses and contact lens prescription measurement

A proper diagnostic workup allows the correct diagnosis before any treatment is recommended. Some patients presenting with symptoms that appear to need surgery are managed medically after a full assessment — and some presenting as 'just a glasses problem' have findings that need further investigation.
